Default 996 to Cayenne

Love my 2002 Carrera 4. Had a trip in a TT lat night and was wowed. (Previously had an S on order which I cancelled.) My dealer says that the Cayenne TT feels every bit as much a Porsche - although a bit less nimble,

Has anyone mde the transition?

What are your thoughts?

I went from a 03x50 to the Cayenne TT. I do not miss the car one bit in fact I love the truck more. Much more usable.

i still have my '01 996TT, and picked up a Cayenne TT. It's a really nice SUV/SAV, but if you're really serious about your street driving, i'd keep the 996. It really depends on how much you need the extra space and seats. For me, I wanted a people hauler when we go out to dinner and road trips, and the Cayenne is perfect.

For myself, I don't think I could give up my 996TT for a Cayenne. I still consider my 996TT the daily driver and Cayenne the second car

Chris, you're a lucky man. If only I had a 3-car garage and another $200K... I sure do miss those open-track events at Laguna Seca, Sears Point, Firebird, Phoenix IR, Willow Springs, Thunder Hill, Portland IR, etc.

Meanwhile, I'll continue to be thrilled with my C-T.

I owned a 2002 non X50 996 TT, my wife now owns a Cayenne TT and I own a 2003 996 TT X50. I love driving both vehicles - I could not bear to have the power in the 996 and not in the Cayenne so I decided to get the turbo - it's nice to have that giddy-up when you want it. As far as stability goes I have had the Cayenne up to 140 mph indicated and it was remarkably stable - I mean planted - no squishy oh **** feeling at all. It was set at sport mode suspension setting and the lowest ride height at the time - in fact it was even a reasonably windy day to boot. It certainly is not a 996TT but it's no slouch either. I enjoy driving the Cayenne but there is nothing like being behind the wheel of a 996 TT X50. I'd go with the turbo if I had to do it again. Good Luck. T2

Cocnsensus seems to be:
1. Best to have both
2. If you must have one, keep the 996...

....or am I reading this the way Iwant to?!!!!

Thanks anyway.
