Default Porsche and VAG Part Numbers

Does anyone here know of a database which is searchable with the Volkswagen Audi Group Part Numbers used on Porsches (for instance Cayennes)?

Here is an example:

The Air Ride Compressor on Porsche Cayennes officially has the Part Number of 95535890105, yet when you look at the actual thing itself, all you can find is the VAG Number 7L0616006D. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271584107580&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Above is a link to the listing to see exactly what I mean.

VAG Part Numbers are wonderfully organized and have a solid and meticulous system behind them (The Porsche numbering is fine and makes sense, but the VAG numbers are tidier and more succinct). We will often use a database like Jim Ellis Parts to do searches based on Part Numbers where the interchange data or specific details are lacking.

Now, when I have an Audi Part Number like 4E0907357 (a Headlight Range Control Module from a 2004 Audi A8, I can search it without a problem. However, with our known Porsche databases, they appear to be only searchable with the 11-digit Porsche Number. For instance: This is a dead search query using the VAG number, where the Porsche number successfully yields this lovely collection of data.

Again, does anyone know of a Porsche Parts database which is searchable with the VAG Part Numbers? Or of a database which can Translate the VAG Number to a Porsche Number.

None that I know of but I completely agree with you. VAG's part numbers are easier to decipher and the Cayenne has a lot of VAG shared parts. Plus for us consumers, usually the VAG part is cheaper, but occasionally you will find a Porsche part being cheaper.
