which pads and rotors should I get
My warning light will be coming on soon because My front brakes will need to be changed.
OEM, Zimmerman, EBC, or a different brand for rotors? Drilled, slotted?
OEM, Pagid, Hawk HPS, Hawk ceramic, or different brand pads?
Naturally I would like less dust, but most importantly I want better braking.
What have you tried and liked and feel comfortable recommending?

I went with Zimmerman coat-z cross drilled rotors and standard pads. The pads are dusty and there may be much better ones but the rotors are REALLY good. Won't rust and have good wear and stopping characteristics.

There are some other posts on this subject. I didnt do it yet, but I am going to use OEM Disks and OEM Brembo pads for my first brake change. Remember, Slotted rotors make noise.

Slotted rotors made noise on my Passat, but the ones on my old S6 and current X5 have been silent. You will probably want a ceramic pad to cut down on brake dust.

My 2004 twin turbo cayenne brakes are traveling way too far and have become mushy I drove it earlier and they were just fine backing out of the garage and feeling mush.
Any ideas the warning light I saw thought it meant my break lights were out but the warning went away like 20 seconds later. I really thought there was a short in my lights because I kept a towing ball in the side rear compartment. Help I got so much to do tomorrow. Oh by the way the the brake fluid is right on.

I just changed out pads and rotors 2 weeks ago on my 2009 CS. I went with the Zimmerman Z-Coats and Textar epad ceramics. For the rotors, the Zimmermans are a known quantity and have worked well in the past on other vehicles. As for the pads, I haven't had them on long enough to tell you anything meaningful about dust reduction and performance since I've just gone through my first couple hundred miles bedding them, but so far they feel good and I think they're going to work very well. No hint of noise or squealing so far, either.

I found that the ceramic pads with slotted or X drilled rotors are loud. I can deal with some dust, so I stay away from ceramic pads in the cold temps.
Zimmerman rotors are pretty good. Stoptech also are good.
