Default Sign of cardan shaft going bad or something else?

2005CTT
Was driving 13mph stuck on fwy and the car started to warble as I slowly accelerate. I can feel the whole car wobble at low speed i.e10-13mpg. At 60mph I don't feel it. When slow down to a complete stop sometime I get a small thunk. No banging from center console. Anyone experienced this on their Cayenne?

Good question, it may be time to give it a good inspection on a lift. Something like that may show itself, even if it isn't the shaft.

A Cardan shaft feels like some troll underneath the car behind driver seat banging the floor pan with a hammer and gets worse with speed. A warble sounds like suspension related. Mike

Checked everything under the lift and all is good. Cardenas shaft is solid. I found the problem. My rear left 50% tread developed and blister the size of my two hands like a mount valley. I was fortunate it did not blow up on my way home. Time for new rims and tires. Thinking about putting on 21" mesh design concave look. Currently I have 22". 22 looks great but the road noise is not so great.

Sorry about the grammar. The auto corrections are annoying.

i had a feeling this was going to be something you could see with good look over a beer. Reminds all of us to take a pause and inspect or at least take a good look under when we can, pilot pre-flight....

Either stick with the 22's or go to 20's but stay away from 21's. I regret buying my BBS RS-GT's as the tires for 21's are almost twice the price of 20" or 22" tires and not as many choices. Check out tire rack for sizes and you'll see before you purchase.

Thanks for that warning. Now I am having a second thought about 21's. If the blisters ever happens again on the 21's many shops might not have those tire size. I travel on business a lot on the Cayenne. Thank you for the heads up.

I found this. $2700 wheels & tires out the door. Is this a good price?
