Advice...
Have had 2004 CS and the engine locked up...I paid $13K for it and probably invested another $1500 into (not including the tires).
I got an offer for $4800 to buy it as is or I can get another engine (used) for $4500 plus another $1500 to install. This is my only car...bought it in June.
What should I do?!?

Do you know any history of the car? Was it treated well?
If not, i.e. bought with no records, I would sell as is and take the loss as there may be other hidden issues if the car was abused.
How many miles? If the body is perfect, and everything else looks good. Flat six isn't cheap, not sure if he is just doing turbos or does the S engines too.
Sorry for the loss, it does suck...
You are out 6 grand if you fix it or 10 grand if you sell it. For the 4k difference, you have to decide if you are gambling on a lemon.

Yes...I have the Carfax and I spoke with the service men at the shop it was serviced at. Also...did. Carfax on the replacement engine...all good there too.
Also have to consider if I don't fix it...I am out $10k plus have to buy another car.

You just answered your own question. Unless throwing away 4k is not an issue.
