Default Cayenne Homelink

I am new to all of this stuff, however, I have a 2004 cayenne that is not equipped with OEM homelink. I needed to replace the overhead console so I purchased one from an auction site that had the home link option. Made all of the switches to install this item, however the LED does not light when buttons are depressed to program the unit. What am I missing, can anyone help, I probably need pictures. I thought this would be plug and play, I guess there is more to it than that.

Just a wild guess but would you need to enable it with something like the Bosch Hammer or Durametric?

You need to splice a wire to give power to the switch.
There is a DIY somewhere on here.

I am going to follow this.

I cant get mine on my 2009 to program correctly. I followed the Manuel and something just doesn't work correct. I have a Sears Garage Door Opener.

There is a TSB for Homelink from Porsche, become a member of RennTech.org and you get access to the TSB's.

Mostly it says if it fails the 1st time make sure you have fresh batteries in the remote and to try it a second time. On both of mine it took 2 attempts for it to work.

Default 2007 Acura MDX Homelink & Genie Pro 1024 Issue Solved

I too had the same issue with a 2007 Acura MDX. I have a Homelink and my garage opener is a Genie Pro 1024. After several attempts and following the manual to a tee, no success.

I finally tried a three step process that worked, I hope this helps someone:

Step 1: Reset Homelink by holding down the two outer button until lights blink slowly (20+ seconds)

Step 2: Homelink has to memorize your remote before it can read the code from your garage door (code reader). I did this by holding the button down on my remote and the Homelink button at the same time (lights blinked fast, then solid, than slowly: 20+ seconds). Make sure that remote is within an inch or two of your Homelink. At this point your ready to use your the code reader on your opener...use a ladder!

Step 3: Press the code reader on your garage door (using a ladder) than go back and push your Homelink button: light will blink fast than solid (2-3 seconds) on your Homelink, release and repeat this three times before your 30 second code LED stops blink on your garage opener. On the 3rd time it should work like a charm!
