YES I am satisfied with it. The software issues are there but the unit is 10X better than outdated PCM 2.1
Touch screen nav, phone-book browsing, native iPod controls and playing videos outweigh the kluge PCM unit.

Yes, wouldn't hesitate to buy it. It's the best option out there really...

My recent 04 cayenne came with Alpine INA W900 Nav system and JL X400/4 amplifier. They did a sloppy work or incomplete job. I tried updating the firmware, but it says it is already upto date. How can update the GPS data?

Though the instructions make no mention of the adapter, I used it anyway and am also getting some spotty reception. My next step is to ditch the adapter (white and green extension) and connect it straight to the harness like it is shown in that pdf file.
Hi bdtzmaru - thx for your answers. I have already seen the pdf document from Dynavin and the antennas are connected as shown in the document. Though I am using the adapter cable as well, but I will also try to connect the antennas directly.
In the Dynavin Radio option - should the setting "12V supply for Antenna" be enabled or disabled ? The setting "Europe / US" does not make any difference. Both are equally bad. Though, my is set to Europe as I am located in Europe... Please let me know if you find a solution. I wrote to Dynavin directly - hoping for an answer regarding the wires (Parking, Data_TX, Active, and P. CNTR).

This is a thread about the Dynavin, in case you didn't notice.

I have emailed Jon at www.jandtdistributing.com last week about shipping to Australia, but no reply yet. So I may have to get it shipped to a US address then forwarded here.
The eBay sellers say they can't ship to Australia either.

I have received a reply back from Dynavin regarding my problems with PDC, OBC, and the wires (Parking, Data_TX, Active, and P. CNTR).

Both PDC and OBC are not supported for Porsche Cayenne - the information is not available via CANBUS....Very disapointing.....

The wires are not used for Cayenne installation. Only used for the Dynavin universal unit.

Oh that is a bummer! What about some future updates to the APPS icon? I would like to see Traffic updates, Youtube, Netflix, etc! :-)

Darn...just as I suspected!!

Regarding the radio antenna, I tried to take apart the adapter, but I gave up after I broke one of the purple tabs holding the cables in place of the harness. After a closer inspection of the harness, I don't think the factory plugs will fit into the harness because it is 90deg angled as opposed to 180deg. What I found out though is that the wire going into green fakra adapter was a little loose. So I pushed the curry colored factory fakra and the green fakra together to give it a better connection. The result is a better signal than before and less static noise from the radio.

Also, I finally got my backup camera working, thanks to the help of Kiet (Koolkat1973). The Reverse trigger (detector) from the Dynavin unit needed to converted from a positive to a negative signal before it is connected to the camera wire of the vehicle. The relay and the fakra to rca adapter needed is linked on page 4 of this thread by Koolkat1793.

He pointed me to this website:
http://www.the12volt.com/relays/page1.asp

The reverse (+) trigger is that same green wire I was talking about in my earlier post regarding the PDC and is connected between the CANBUS and Dynavin unit. It believe it is labeled as "Reverse Detector" (harness A) on the wiring diagram on top of the Dynavin unit. I used a couple of T-TAPS to wire up the relay shown on the link titled "Convert a Positive Output to a Negative Output".

The factory ground wire is brown and the camera wire is bluish colored . The camera wire is paired up with a brown wire, both wires were not connected to anything in the wire harness provided by Dynavin. There are two brown (ground) wires coming in from the vehicle dash. I chose to T-TAP the thicker ground wire instead of the thinner brown wire attached in the harness with the bluish camera wire. Sorry no pics...hopefully it will make sense when you are looking at all the wires.

In short the relay is connected this way:
30 and 85 are connected to Porsche brown ground wire
86 is connected to the green wire of the dynavin harness A (Reverse Detector).
87 is connected to the Porsche bluish camera wire

Along with the Fakra to rca adapter, I bought this http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2102664 to connect to the brown rca plug of the Dynavin and the adapter. A male to male RCA video cable works also, but I wanted to minimize the wires behind the dash.

A note about accessing the Cayenne's GPS antenna:

The dynavin N6 comes with a gps Fakra type C plug instead of the SMA plug. You do not need to crimp your own Fakra connectors. I believe this adapter will work:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/161135180097

I'm going to wait on purchasing this cable because I have not had any problems with the Dynavin supplied gps antenna. I installed mine underneath the ashtray of the dash. Not the best place to put it but I was too lazy to install it by the A-pillar knowing I was going to tap into the Cayennes antenna. But it works...for now.

All credit goes to Koolkat1973 for figuring this out!

Glad you got it working.

You said the GPS antenna that came with the Dynavin is working for you? How quickly does it pick up the signal after you power on the car? When I tried to use the Dynavin antenna, it would take over a minute before it finds a satellite. I couldn't live with that so that's when I had to figure out a way to connect to OEM GPS antenna. But if it's working for you, that's awesome. For those having issues with receiving, connecting to the OEM GPS antenna is pretty easy and worked like a charm.

Thanks again for your guidance!

The GPS picks up a signal once I pull out of my garage. I would say anywhere between 30-60 seconds. Slow for some but I guess I can live with it. I will probably order that adapter in the near future.

I tried accessing the fakra plug underneath the passenger seat and I couldn't quite unplug it with my hands. And once I figured out I didn't have the correct adapter...I stopped. Lol. How did you manage to get that sucker out?

For those interested...I have Fakra type c GPS crimps on plugs and an extra GPS antenna for sale....no need to wait two weeks for shipping.

Don't panic concerning our poorly designed PCB/Bose system. This is coming in 2015

That is way cool... I'm a fan of the HUD. But do you have to stick it to dash? Seems like it wouldn't be reversible. I didn't read the website, so that might have been addressed.

The website says it's easy to remove.

Yeah, I watched the video and it appears easy to remove.

Airline pilots didn't invent the HUD--fighter pilots did.
