thanks Cole and thank all for advice - sincerely appreciated.

Off to test the newer V6 now.. i know what you guys are saying about the turbo being way better than a S or v6, but I guess it doesn't light my fire quite as much... I get that kick out on the race track I guess

Only part of the equation is about the power. Sooooooooo much more to a turbo than power.

Turbos are the best value period. Most reliable engine and the highest standard options.

I think so, probably not until next year. My family dynamic is changing and I will be looking into cars with a little more sex appeal. Don't really want to get into any more details than that.

So I bought the 2008 V6!

You guys will be horrified I know, but honestly felt much more modern than the 2004 Turbo. Honestly, I see the difference in power - obviously - but to me it's not a huge of a difference as I thought based on reading the forums. Granted its like armageddon off the line at the lights, but really thats it in my eyes. If anyone else is reading this and has to chose between an older Turbo and a newer V6 then that V6 sport option makes a HUGE difference versus the none optioned 'sport' V6. I got nav, tow package, parking sensors and heated seats on a car which looks much newer.

My advice having test drove a lot of them and owned a V6 for a week is: if you want a Turbo for kicks, don't. Buy a newer V6 and spend the difference on a 944 Cup car for the track!!

Appreciate the input btw - saved me on those pipes!

You do realize they are the same car right? The 2008 is just dressed up

I'm glad you are enjoying it! Seems like a vanity vs. Enthusiast purchase! Don't want people to think you couldn't afford a newer one?

I'm glad he's happy with it but when he makes silly statements like "felt more modern" on the same design platform and "if you want a Turbo for kicks, don't'"....its worth some harassment

Yeah I hear you. For some reason McBit who has had a 955 and 957 feels the 957 drives better too for some reason. I have to wonder if it all comes down to what state the car's bushings are in.

If it was a turbo or GTS with PASM that makes sense. Otherwise no.

I feel like Porsche enthusiasts buy the most performance of the model they want and can afford.

People buying for the Porsche badge simply buy the newest they can afford regardless of the performance.(and make statements like "to me its not a huge difference" when comparing to a car with nearly 2x the power and options)
