2004 turbo

I use my key to unlock my door manually and i use my key to start the car. this time the key got stuck in the ignition and turning left or right gives me no response. I CANNOT remove the key from the ignition ! Is there something i need to know .

I know that a week back i received a key low battery on the dash can that cause this or is that just to unlock your doors ?

The key locks in the ignition if the vehicle battery is drained. Put power to the jumper terminals in the engine bay and you'll be able to jump start the vehicle or remove the key.

 

Never done it myself. but this is what the manual says.

 

Did the same myself a couple months ago, wound up pulling the neg battery cable off the battery, charging the battery directly with my charger, reconnected the cable and removed the key. Of course this was from the comfort of my garage.

Would be interesting to know if the above procedure works. I didn't think to look in the manual. (not unusual)

 

Fob key stuck in ignition

EASY FIX! If u look closely at left side of ignition on the round black rubber part there is a tiny hole about size of a pencil tip. Stick a pen tip or something else that would fit in it. When u press that hole in thd key fob will be released for u to take the fob out of ignition

 

NEVER ignore battery messages on a Cayenne (or really any modern vehicle). Key or main battery.

Was that the original battery in the key? It'd be pretty impressive to get 14 years out of one!

 

Considering the OP is from almost 5 years ago, it's not that impressive.
Although 9 years from a battery isn't half bad.
