1st gen cayenne diff lock and snow performance
#46
ive come from two turbo Subarus that were modified to around 350 hp. An 02 WRX and an 05 Legacy GT Wagon. they were both 5 speeds and fantastic in the snow with dedicated tires.
i have blizzaks on my CTT now and it is definitely as good (and possibly better based upon the driver) in the snow IMHO. What has been failed to be mentioned so far is the PSM. It does a masterful job of limiting and distributing power in the snow, key word being limiting. i have to turn it off just to get the rear to slide out in the snow. i have been drifting thru my development (where they never plow) for years and have not driven a "stability controlled" vehicle that handles better.
correct that the ground clearance was the limiting factor in the winter in my Subarus.
