Your console that surrounds the cupholder and shifter is leather?? As in, skin of an animal, e.g., cow or pig or kangaroo or whatever Germany has in excess? Did you buy it like this, or wrap it yourself?
Are you going to tell me your tires are leather too?
Mine is wood but I do find that contrasting black attractive, nice move.
Hi all. I live in the Caribbean, so the heat basically melted the factory coating in several areas on my 2008. I used Tuff Stuff to remove it and it worked great. It did the job without scratching the surface and I'm very pleased with the results...
Sarcasm. Your fix looks great. I would have cringed at the very first off-color mark.
Ahh, I thought it might have been but it seemed more on the side of non-sarcastic.

Odd, I live in the Middle East and have never had any heat damage whatsoever (except for the seat back falling off on my GTS) to the interior of any of the Porsche's I have owned.
I used steel wool to get the soft stuff off my Cayman console to prep for body color painting. You could have gotten the matching beige color from any paint store and have touched up the nicks or sprayed the whole piece.

I don't think regular paint and this soft touch coating would mix well. The coating should be taken off before painting or doing anything else anyways.
FWIW, the "soft touch" coating on the console and some other places in the Cayenne was used by many brands of the same era with the. Same results. Just be happy Porsche didn't use it on more buttons like Audi and BMW did!
Yup. My Saab 9-3 had it all over the place. Using Armor-All on it will make it peel super quick. =/
