Default OEM rear camera issues 2006 CS

Does anyone know how to get the trim off to get to the OEM rear camera on a 2006 Cayenne? Mine is being a little flakey, sometimes it will open and sometimes not, camera still working but it just wont pop out. Need to get into the area to check it out. Thanks for your help.

Was able to get the trim off and boy is it nasty behind there. I have checked and cleaned all the connections and still not working properly. Did hard reset on PCM and still no luck. Seems like there is some type of short as it works only randomly. May need to take the motor apart and see if I can see anything.

You can take apart the little two jack screws that the motor turns in order to extend the camera, clean them then re-grease them. Also, there is a module that controls the rear camera which is on the inside of the back hatch, not really sure what it does but I do know it has to do with the motor and not the camera portion at least. In my case the OEM camera quit but the motor still reliable extended and retracted the camera so I just replaced the OEM cameras with a $20 Ebay unit which had as good if not better picture than the OEM camera.

How do I get access to the motors and jack screws? seems like the motor is not turning or making any noise, maybe it is siezed, currently extended. Thinking of relocating the camera to the plate lights as in the other posts and replacing the trim piece, no way I am paying 1k for a new camera if I cant fix it. Do you know if the GTS trim panel that is solid black may fit on my 06?
Hahnmgh63, I did see your posts on your camera issues. Thanks for your help.

To get to the Jack Screws you remove the two little screws on either side of the camera that hold on the two plates. The grease in mine was very hard and dirty.
