Largest Diameter Tires on a GTS?

I don't know if being a GTS makes any difference other than it is lowered down a bit more than any other models; as I understand it.
Has anyone done or read any research as to what the largest diameter of tire will fit on a Cayenne with Porsche fender extensions on a 20"x10" rim?
I saw a 275 50 R 20 listed at tire rack that is just under 31 (30.8) inches tall. Would those fit? Bigger?
I'm interested for a winter/snow/off road tire setup. If I'm going to do any exploration of the West, like Colo, NM, AZ the bigger the better to avoid damage and getting stuck. I'm not talking about serious four wheeling but I've found some pretty gnarly back roads in my travels in these states.
The next question would be most aggressive tread pattern available?
I guess they would all have to have a fairly high speed rating and have stiff enough sidewalls to not hamper handling too much when on the tarmac.
The GTS is coming with a set of 21s for performance street.

I know 30.8 is fine on a non GTS. The cayenne transyberria runs 32" IIRC. You may find that you rub if you are go over bumps and are in low setting.. But i imagine in "normal" or higher you would be fine. I doubt there are a lot of ppl with GTS's that have forged this path. I personally think these trucks look awesome with oversized tires.

So those are 32" tires hey? Looks like there is a lot of wheel well space around them. I guess the problem must be at full steering lock or suspension compression.

When I googled tire size on the Transsyberia quite a few threads came up for people asking what the biggest tire is. I'll have to read those. They say stock size is 265/65R 18 on one. I need 20 inch for bigger brakes and already found a good used set that is on the way.
These might work and are 32.5" tall and will go on a 10 inch rim. I've owned those tires on vehicles before and they aren't too bad. Certainly not high performance but hold up ok on street and they work pretty well off road as long as it isn't really muddy. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ORWL&tab=Specs
Too bad Cayennes don't offer central tire inflation as an option like Unimogs.

Looks like it has been updated a bit since the old days. Better side lugs I think. Also in that size on a 10 inch wide rim it should look pretty good. They can be flipped around backwards so you don't have the white lettering on the outside.

These are good winter tires but no AT.
Pirelli snow and ice in 275/50r20: 30.9" and H rated.
I always thought 18" tires cleared the brakes unless you have a turbo-s.
Here is another 31" tire for 20's

If you want to run AT's the choices are 275/45-20 Cooper Zeons or 265/50-20 Terra Grapplers, though the later might require a narrower wheel than Porsche OE(?). I have run the Zeons for 30K on my RRS SC, and they have the best offroad traction for an AT, but hum on the freeway and lag behind other AT's as far as wet traction and hydroplane resistance compared to other AT's. Never driven in snow with them. My favorite AT's are the Pirelli ATRs and the Yoko AT-S, which are HR rated and performed better onroad than the all-season tires they replaced, but they do not make a 20" size that will fit.

The wheel wells look huge. If the tires rub somewhere on the inside at full lock spacers would probably do the trick. If they rubbed the body on the outside then not going to work.
Has anyone tried 32 inch tires?

Stock 18" cayenne wheels work just fine on a GTS running Yokohama Geolandar AT-S tires which are 30.5" in diameter at the 265/60 R18 size. That's 1.5" greater than the stock 29" diameter and there is no rubbing, no issues at all.

Garrett how do you like that setup? Would you describe the handling/performance characteristics on the road? I had 30.5" geolandar at-s on my ML and thought they were pretty good but haven't tried them on a cayenne.
