Our Cayenne S 2011 gets lots of use loading / unload stuff from trunk. Would love a protective strip in aluminum finish for top of rear bumper like appears to be standard on 2013 Touareg. Any chance this VW part would fit on my CS 2011?

I doubt it. I have a 2012 Touareg TDI and the bumper seems to stick out more. When the rear hatch is closed you can see most if the ridged strip on mine.

I had that same strip on a 2011 Touareg, and I doubt there's any way to make it work on a Cayenne. Same day I took delivery of my own Cayenne, I scratched the rear bumper cover while removing a heavy box from the cargo area. Thought I was smart and next time used piece of carpet to slide out a heavy/bulky item. Unfortunately the carpet backing ended up rubbing fine scratches into the clear coat. At that point I broke down and ordered that reversible rear carpet with the removable rubber apron that flips out to protect the bumper cover.

We had our Cayenne S down in Yellowstone NP and were parked next to a 2013 Touareg TDI. i noticed how similar the rear bumper seemed to my Cayenne and of course the lovely rear bumper guard strip on the TDI. Any differences in rear bumper between 2011 and 2013 TDI?

No change in Touareg rear bumper in 2011-14 models.

I put some speed film on top of the rear bumper. It gets scratched up and I replace it every year, but it does protect the paint.
