Default Shifter Problems

My 04 CS has an intermittent problem with the shifter. When I let the car sit and idle for a few minutes it won't shift out of park - the shift lever won't move like the brake lock isn't disengaging. It moves out of park no problem all other times. I had the local shop clean and lubricate all of the mechanical parts but it didn't help. Any ideas? Would the fact that it happens only when it sits idling (and I guess heating up) offer any clues?

I forgot to mention that if I jiggle the shifter for a bit it will release

Maybe there is something wrong with the shift ****? When I broke mine in my 958 I was able to remove the **** and shift by working the mechanism myself. I have no idea how to remove your **** or if shifting is possible without it, but you might look into trying that.
