Default Cayenne production in Leipzig stopped

We might have to wait even longer for our Cayennes. Germany has seen heavy floods, and it is beginning to impact car production. Porsche had to stop production of the Cayenne in its Leipzig plant. Not because the plant is under water: Bodies for the SUVs are made in Bratislava, Slovakia, however, they don’t reach Leipzig because the railroad tracks in the Czech Republic are under water.

Interesting, but not exciting. My Cayenne Diesel build was originally scheduled for a 14 June completion which a week ago was backed off to 21 June and when I checked with my dealer yesterday, Porsche now shows a 28 June completion. Another possible delay, with the shutdown because of the floods and the fact that most of Europe, including Porsche shut down the end of July for the annual August holidays, there could worst case be a delivery delay into September. Hope not as my wife wants her new Cayenne like so many waiting buyers.

For what it is worth and since I have a stake in the game, I checked with my dealer and they have no word of a slow down at the Cayenne factory but they are checking more throughly for me. Anyone with a Cayenne on order check with your dealer and post the results thanks

Just checked at my dealership, no change from 14 June build for my CD. They have not been told of a shutdown or slowdown. I hope they are correct, planning a birthday party for next Friday.

Good on you, mine was originally a 14 June build completion, a week ago the dealer checked and it was moved to 21 June and then Weds it was build completion on 28 June. No explanation for the shift. Oh well what can you do except wait.

Maybe you should permanently stop visiting this forum since your posts are so productive.

well, one cant write on average over 6 posts a day for 11 years on a car forum by restricting oneself to productive comments... some slack-cutting would seem to be in order here!
