Default Is this color (Auburn) really not available for 2014?

I am referencing the color in this ad on cars.com

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

I do not see any color called "Auburn" on the website, only a "Carmine Red"

Is that an oversight or is it not available? I think it is neat but I hate the all beige interior of this vehicle and the non panormaic roof.

edit: also, I have a moral objection to paying for anything from B(L)ose...

You are correct, it was.

And no loss. Auburn was pretty awful in the flesh.

I thought Auburn looked better in person than in pics, but definitely wouldn't be my first choice.

Does anyone here have any pics of the Mahogany color on a Cayenne?

I saw a Targa that color today. Or close to it. Looked great in person.

I actually saw one on the street the other day in Toronto.. should've snapped a photo. Thought it was really strange because none of them are supposed to have been built yet like what Needsdecaf said. Much, much deeper and richer brown than the Umber.

Huh. I suppose I will have to go to the dealer and see if they have the color plate in.

Red was initially my first choice, followed by blue. But during the configuration, I discovered that auburn was as close as they had available (short of that $3000 Carmine rip-off). But online, it looked to have crossed too far over into brown territory. So I decided to take a trip and look at the color plates. Once I saw the auburn up close and personal, I quickly went with the Dark Blue Metallic.

Yes it's definitely more brown than red. Looks like root beer in person.

Auburn? Disagree. Not very brown at all.

Auburn more of a metallic orangey-red.

Red's one of those colours that different people perceive very differently in terms of intensity, even those who aren't colourblind. So I wouldn't be surprised if both of you are right :P

I'm in the Greg/XR4 camp on the brown-ness of it.

I liked it online and it was my top choice until I took the sample plate out in the sun. DBM pretty much became my default choice at that point since I didn't want another Black car and I don't like any of the other colors.

Porsche needs to steal BMW's color people. BMW has a history of some really good colors (specifically in the blues and reds). For Porsche the good color options are more of the exception than the rule to me.
