Exclamation Better tires on 2012 V-6 Cayenne - 18"

Hello, I have done a search of the Cayenne forum on tire replacements.

There seems to be 3 replacement tires recommended the most:

1. Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season

2. Continental CrossXSport

3. Continental Extreme Contact DWS

Are there any additional comments on these for use through out their life, approximate life of the tire and other comments?

These replacements are for my summer performance OE tires.
Got about 25K out of them, and they are close to being replaced.
Will be likely going to all seasons to replace them.

The winters are Scorpion Snow & Ice. Have been happy with them
Not too noisy throughout their life (now at 30K and very close to needing replacement.)

Any suggestions for the winters as well?

Thanks in advance!

Only have experience here in the Middle East on summer tires. 2005 turbo 19" wheels, on the original P Zero Rossos I was getting about 35k all round; since changing to Michelin Latitude Sports I'm getting about 45k rear and 60k front.

I have had both Conti offerings and would go with the DWS for better handling and wet performance, the cross contacts for slightly better tread life.

I agree. The Continental ExtremeContact DWS is the best tire I've ever had on my Cayenne. I'm on my second set now.

The Scorpion Verde 19" came with my car, they seem fine. I will replace them with the P Zero next year.

I am also on my second set of DWS's, best tires for all round performance with decent tread wear.

Have 20" DWS on my Touareg TDI. Great tire.

Thanks for all the comments.
Maybe I should have put up a poll?

I've been using Michelin Alpins on my Cayenne for winter driving. I drop down to an 18" wheel for winter and I run 20" wheels in warm weather. I've been very pleased with the Michelins. They are quiet and smooth and they perform well in the snow. I think they have a little less "bite" in the snow and ice than other winter tires that I've used, but they have a better ride and handle better on dry pavement. This is especially important to me because up in the Colorado mountains it can be 50-degrees and sunny one day, and 10-degrees with 12"+ of snow the next day.

My 2013 V6 came with the 18" Conti CrossLXContacts. They are quite and have decent grip on snow, rain and the dry but they came with poor balance and after a thorough road force balance they are quite good but still feels slightly "light" around 75 mph. I've had problem tires before but never, ever with Michelins that's why I always recommend good quality Michelins and it is what I will put on when the Contis are done.

My M3 also came with Contis and they were ok but the difference when I changed to Michelin PSSs were night and day. I'm a huge Michelin fan

I have the Verde's on year round, I like them. Seem to handle better the N tires I had on before and lasting longer too.

Ah, what do you know about tires. Go back to the BMW forums.

Haha, I tried to resist not to spend more time on these forums but after lurking here for a year while planning the Cayenne purchase I finally caved. Good to see someone familiar here
