Snapped the plate that holds the headlight
So here is the short and sweet backstory.
Have a 2005 Cayenne V-6. Over time, the drivers side headlight (Halogen, not Xenon) started shorting lights (usually the turn signal, then the head lamp). But I was always able to easily snap the headlight back into place. Upon inspection, I noticed that the wires were starting to fray and the turn signal socket became hard to remove. After several replacements the receptacle broke. That means a new headlight, which by the way run about $530.
So I inserted the new light into the mounting plate and the lock would not snap into place. I tried and tried and finally when I tried to hard, it broke the plate. Bought a new plate, which BTW is a PITA to remove and reinstall. Got it installed, inserted the light and the lock will still not snap into place. Noticed that the headlight does not fit flush with the body either. I am thinking that I put the mounting plate in too tightly. Anyway, I am tired and at a loss. Any suggestions?

Hey Rob, is there a 2nd Driver novel out? Your sig "Author - The Driver, a Marc Lange series of novels" indicates there's more than one. I looked on Amazon but didn't find one. Read the first, enjoyed it, just waiting for the 2nd.

Bill, thanks for the plug. Yes there is a Driver Book II. And my problem is it is fully edited. But this darned thing called "The Day Job" tends to get in way of good book creation. I plan to take a week off in June to edit the edits and get it closer to getting published. Please stayed tuned!!
