Default Clock On Dash

Cayenne Diesel 14 just ordered in white with grey interior for June build. Dealer is almost certain the center dash clock has been eliminated as there was a recall do to above average ticking noise. Plus, Porsche doesn't show the clock in their new brochures. My 06 S with 104,000 miles has stood the test of time. Sweet, can't wait!

Steve. Oh Steve. I think this thread is just for you

I don't know about a recall for excessive noise. I think I'm the only one that complained about the noise to the point that I got others to now notice it

There were a bunch of issues with them just failing to work at all. I don't think there was an actual recall on them, but some people got a new base clock and some got the sport chrono clock (but without the chrono package functions!).

Congrats on the CD. I love mine. I would recommend looking at Bluespark Automotive to get even more out of it (more torque, HP, and MPGs). I'm the second person around here to get it and have been thrilled so far. Greg posted info here about his and I have a thread over on 6spd about mine.

Yeah mine died after 5 days of use. It's not covered under the recall so who knows what's going to happen. I can't imagine Porsche getting rid of the center clock?

What did they charge you for the 19" wheel upgrade?

Don't count on the brochures to clue you in on what you will actually receive. The CD brochure that you can download on the Porsche web site shows no clock, and lists PASM as included in the Premium Package. My 2013CD (FEB 2013 production) came with a clock and no PASM even though I ordered the Premium Plus Package. No surprise to me as I expected the center clock and no PASM, but one can always hope. When I ordered the CD, I asked the dealer about the PASM reference in the brochure, and he said it is not included in the Premium Packages -- he was right. I did get some good info from this brochure -- I liked the color combo (blue / beige) -- figured if they used it in the brochure, it must be real hot. It is.

Here's the link to the brochure:
http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/ca...y/?gtabindex=5

Looks like someone at Porsche Marketing did some cutting and pasting to produce this brochure, and didn't know what they were doing. I understand that they went to print with these errors, but they could at least correct the online version.

With all the permutations and combinations of options / packages / models, it's understandable that these details can get screwed up.

$1950 for the 19's plus the 6.25% Mass sales tax. Have to factor in trade, though foe the S and slight discount for the new beast as a repeat customer. Oh tax me more b*tch!

On my 2014 I just ordered, the sport chrono and compass are options. I highly doubt that they'd have two options that fit the clock location, yet omit the clock (and therefore the housing) without ether of these two.

I'm sure it'll b there.

That's how they came pre-2013, but I think the basic clock was an option at that point.

My recollection is the clock became a standard feature in Sept 2011 production (2012 model year), along with the larger brakes and the door lock switch on the doors. My 2012CV6 was built in that month and was one of the first to include these upgrades. Good (lucky) timing.

BTW, the clock on the 2012 and my recent build 2013 are different. The 2013 has large red hands for the minute / hour -- easier to read. My wife was wondering how much it would cost to swap her clock out for one like mine -- I told her about $70K.

Tax is 7% here in Georgia, who knew we had a higher tax than MA?

My vehicle came with the 18's. The dealer said they did not have any other wheels available so I found a brand new set of 19" Turbo 2 wheels and tires that someone had just traded in for something bigger at a local tire shop. They charged me $225, including installation and N2. So I guess I paid about what the dealer would have charged if they had any wheels available (which I still find hard to believe that they did not).

Back in 06 I paid , I think, $1100 from some Florida outfit for 18 in takeoffs as an extra winter set. That included 4 brand new Michelins. Ok, so the odds are now 50 /50 that the beast comes with a center clock. And if it does will it be in red, grey, or black? Well at least, I'm confident there won't be any coil issues!
