at what point should front bushings be replaced? just hit the 55 k mile mark and still under cpo warranty.

yes, front end feels loose when pulling into driveways. kind of a jarring feeling in steering wheel.

It's probably your tires. Never heard of need to replace bushings.

Aren't lower control arm bushings a common wear part on cayennes?

When you are parked and go into reverse do you here a clunk? When I go to and from reverse i hear this clunk... which i think is play in the bushings.

Control arm bushings are classified as wear items.

They were not covered under my Porsche factory extended warranty.

i did get a clunk going from P to R. it was difficult to repeat though.
dealer thought it could also be front struts. he thought the front struts would be covered under cpo.

My Touareg has 56k mi and the front bushings are shot. I get a rubber on metal sound when I release the brakes after a stop. I looked at the control arm bushings and I can see that they have been rubbing on the console that holds them to the frame. Static, there is around a .25 in gap between the edge of the bushing and the face of the console. So there is some good fore and aft movement going on.

I'll be upgrading the Touareg with the Cayenne Turbo S bushings.

Turbo-s lower control arm is said to be sturdier. Might make the steering feel tighter but wont change your suspension rebound behavior. If you want a softer feel I would recommend running slightly oversized tires. I am guessing you are running steel springs (no PASM)? What size are your wheels?

Hey bigbuzuki - do you know if there are other bushings and/or front end suspension components that should be looked at alongside LCA's. On my ML it needed sway bar bushings, end links, etc.
