Default Cayenne S 2006

I managed to buy this 2006 S eventually. I have been looking at the X5 and the Cayenne S.

I am glad that I bought the Cayenne. The drive is much better and the ride is much better than the X5 to me.

It has got air suspension but no auto dimming rear view mirrors. I do not know if it has got auto headlights as the high beam does not work unless I put it on manually.
The satnav is confusing as still I do not know how to make the map work and if I can switch off the radio but still use the satnav and its voice.

If you turn the vol of your radio all the way down, you'll still hear the nav, but you can't actually turn off the music. All you can do is reduce hit to zero. If you catch the Nav talking and turn it up, that's how you get your Nav louder. I've had a couple '06's, still driving one. Nav is very out of date. I do use it a lot, A LOT. But in areas that have seen development, forget it. Rural, be concerned. In town, not so bad. Problem with the phone is you have to look at it and listen to it. When the car Nav will work, I use it.

We have also a 2006, ..that we bought new in Feb 2007, that has now more than 100k miles, and it still drive and feel ..like new.
Imo, air suspension is key, ..to the point that if would have to get only a single option, I would get that one ! So, very well done on this one.
For the Nav, ok, it is a bit "aged", (compared to the one, similar, but more modern of my 2010 Panamera), but still, in my opinion, the Cayenne 2006 has still a VERY GOOD Nav, working extremely well.
You need to find an operation manual, and then you should be just fine.
If it is "mission critical" for your usage, why you do not simply buy the latest update and install it ..or better make it installed. I think there is a very good topic about it right here.

Have great "smile" miles with this very nice SUV.

Switch from Radio to CD. (assuming you're not playing one)

Sorry for the very late response as I have been abroad for a long time. I only have the single CD player and not the CD changer. I tried to install an ipod adaptor but they told me its a complicated affair and need to take to a special radio shop.

I did try using the phone and the satnav but they never seem to be taking the same route.
Any idea where I can get the latest DVD for the Satnav?

thank you
