Default Uprated Turbos for 06' Turbo s ?

Hi,
Now that i have already made every possible mod without opening the Engine (cai, alloy cast intake elbow, pre cat delete, 100 Cell Metal cats and catback, Custom Map) i am looking for bigger turbos.
I saw that the techart 680 hp Kit has those plus headers.
As this Kit does Not sell seperatelly and costs a fortune i am looking for a Company that can supply bigger Turbos .
Goal is Breaking through the 700 hp barrier and for this bigger Turbos are Badly needed.
Maybe somebody here knows of a reputeable Tuner that can help here.
A while ago i conntacted Ultimate motorwerks with this question from whom i Know that they deliver incredible stuff for the 996 Turbo and i have bought a Turbo from them for my 930 but Never got a word back.
All help appreciated.
Many thanks
Stefan

Wow sounds awesome a 5000lb rocket ship. Why not spend money modding something to go so fast with a lower center of gravity?

wow, congrats. I'm doing pretty much the same thing, my goal is a little smaller number - I'm aiming towars 0,5MW.
why not build a hybrid into the same housing? might be easier and cheaper to do...

This, and the short block, etc. I'd be interested in a major mod like this, but would love some real answers on the decrease in life expectancy of various parts of the drive train.

that's a good question. a friend who owns a gemballa gt650 had his replaced twice under (gemballa) warranty.
other guy who owns a techart magnum w/ 680hp has a standard transmission and already 60k miles on the clock, 0 issues.

take your pick.

Hi,
Hybrid Sounds Fine and Safe costs.
I'll have a closer Look into this.
Does anybody Know the ihi - partnumber of the IHi Turbos used in the Turbo s and are those the Same Turbos As in the normal Cayenne Turbo or already Uprated ?

Concerning drivetrain issues - it is Not the hp that Breaks the trans its the tq Number.
I don't Know what Gemballa and techart Throw at their Trans but mb froze the tq Number at 1000 nm at their Cars.
It is like anything in tuning - Trial and Error :-).
My asumption is something between 800 and 900 nm to stay on the Safe Side.

I had a discussion with a Porsche tech several years ago about getting more air through my '06 turbo S. Point being that air IS power... whether in the form of greater displacement or greater boost.

The tech I spoke to pointed out that on my turbo S the limiting factor is the capacity of the DOWNPIPE (exhaust exit pipe after the turbos). He pointed out that the downpipes are such a tight and custom shaped fit for the tight space that they have in the Cayenne that it is not really feasible to increase the size of the downpipe as Porsche has already maximized it for the tight space that it occupies.

To the point, increasing the size of the turbos will be rather pointless IF you do not increase the size of the downpipe after the turbos and doing that is next to impossible due to the tight space they have to occupy in the Cayenne... but if you figure out how to increase the size of the downpipe please tell us how you do it.

Exactly my Experience !
Replace them with downpipes from "Friedrich sportauspuff" 721eur in stainless , pita to install and to find 100 Cell Metal cats for this tight Space but Turbos spool up very fast abd gain is recognizeable !
Forget secondary Cat delete and catback - just pointless.
I also have Uprated BOVs from precision motorsports, good improvement against those Leaking OEM valves and nice wosh :-).
Regards
Stefan

Peter,
Comparison Chart at the IHi Website Looks promissing.
The Next available Size After the rhf5 is the rhf6 for gasoline applications. Nothing bigger available.
I have my doubts concerning the measurements As the rhf6 is exceding the rhf5 in lengh for example. Therefore a Direct replacement could Be a Problem.
There has to Be a reason Why evoms is putting a garret gt 700 Running gear into the OEM IHi housing, maybe available Space is it.
So we have to possible ways:
1) Looking for a Tuning Company that is able to modify the OEM Turbos for a reasonable Price.
2) make sure that the Next available Size of IHi Turbos (rhf6) is also a Direct replacement
3) compare 1) and 2) concerning performance and Price.

BTW.: Friedrich sportauspuff is also selling the secondary Cat replacement with a 200 Cell Metal Cat.
I had to Weld in my 100 Cell cats into test pipes As i didn't Know .

Regards
Stefan

Great thread. Working on a Fathers Day/Christmas list.

I'm having trouble identifying the exact part on their web site. Any way one of you can link to the exact part?

BOV = Blow Off Valve? Got a link to that exact part?
