I know where to find the average fuel consumption, but is there a way to see the current fuel consumption too on new Cayenne?

The MFD screen that displays the average is 3 layers deep. Depress the steering wheel thumbwheel and 1/2/3 will illuminate to the right.
1 is current trip average, three hour reset threshold
2 is long term, mine reads average since purchase. Not sure about reset
3 is linked to trip mileage when a route is active in Nav.
There is no option for real time fuel consumption, unless you create your own link to the OBD2 port with a secondary device.

Hey Greg,
If you go to the PCM main screen and select the "CAR" button, you can cycle to the average since last reset and the average since trip start.
You can reset the trip to get current consumption.
I haven't found a "current consumption" reading either.
It was kind of fun to see how bad I could get my live consumption on our 7 Series

Yeah, I had that real time consumption display on my Touareg. Totally useless; it would drop to pathetically low mpg pulling hard up a hill, then jump into triple digits going down the other side. Anything over 199 mpg read all zeros, another absolutely useless bit of data. Glad Porsche saw the folly in that, and redirected their efforts to more practical stuff.
The consumption data in the PCM by the way, is merely info remoted from the MFD

My metric BMW makes perfect sense, unlike the "English" system in your Touareg:
- When coasting, 0 "l/100km" since engines is consuming no fuel.
- WOT is 30 "l/100km" or so ... max fuel that could be burned in those cylinders at max RPM.
No need to understand infinity, and dividing by 0 issues! Numbers always between 0-30, somewhat linear to throttle position, and always makes sense.
Also avoids these nonsensical mileage numbers of the new super efficient vehicles being advertise, like the new VW XL1 that gets "270MPG". It uses almost no fuel because it is a plug-in electric, with a lawn-mower engine for emergencies! Just call it almost 0 consumptions, instead of large miles tending towards infinity! That will have no real life comparison value when you compare one plug-in with another at double the MPG.
