New model year already out?

When I checked my configurator for the GTS, it asked if I "want to copy selected configuration into new model year." Only difference I can see is that base price for new model year went from $82,050 to $83,300 and my MSRP total with options went from $103,525 to $104,775 (ie no increase in options, just in base). My car is expected to be completed in Mid-March (in 10 days!). I wonder if I officially get "13 or '14 model, but more importantly hope that my dealer will stick with old negotiated price.

I think they switched production in June last year. I got the second wave of 2013 shipments to this side of the ocean in Aug.
I ordered mine is spring, and my 2012 was supposed to arrive in June. Since I paid mine outright, realized it would be worth many thousands more at any point in time pushing it out 2 months. Even though price went up for 2013, dealer did not even try and change the negotiated amount on a 2012 (but kinda told me they had the right to do it, and have done it before). So happy I have a 2013, in trade for an anguishing 2 months additional wait

It's not clear what is happening here. Could be new model year; could be general price bump. As mentioned, option pricing is unchanged -- only base price rose. The configurator doesn't tell you the model year that's being priced. Mine was built a couple of weeks ago -- probably a 2013; but as far as the order is concerned on the build sheet, it did include: Order Type CUSTMR Customer Order Price Protect N.
Even though it asks permission to update to "new model year", it may just be updating the pricing to current levels, but it's anybody's guess.

The new model is available for ordering in Germany since last weekend. The only changes I noticed are exterior color choices (replaced auburn red with mahogany brown), and interior (blue/black replaced with two new choices: red/black and beige/black). There are some new options available, like lane-departure warning, but nothing major at first glance. Oh and the price increased!

The same changes were made for the 2014 US edition Cayennes. Just take a look at the Porsche configurator on the Porsche web site under "Build your own" or something like that, and you will see the prices and options for the 2014 model.

You can now turn your Cayenne into a hot spot for $1,365:
Wireless internet access
Wireless internet access in the vehicle for simultaneous use by several WLAN-enabled end devices such as a laptop, smartphone, or netbook with a WLAN IEEE 802.11 b/g Interface. Included is a small space-saving WLAN router installed in the glove compartment as well as a separate antenna for connecting to mobile network (e.g. HSPA/UMTS or EDGE/GPRS/GSM network). Reception quality can vary depending on the mobile service provider. Note: requires a data-enabled SIM card (to be provided by the customer). A seperate charged contract with a mobile service provider is required. WLAN router and end device must be configured by customer in accordance with the instructions supplied.

That's because it's already included in Premium Plus Package - so if you want to add it separately, it thinks you want to remove the rest of the package.

kocsis, i can't imagine they would charge you for the increase in price for the new model year when yours is going to be built based on last year's order sheet.
philg3, that is one option i certainly wouldn't have selected even if it had been available. but the mahogany should look nice with the espresso or the cognac/espresso interior IMO.

Agreed on the wireless internet, but I'm sure someone wants it. I might be interested if they offered several video displays / keyboard, as well, so that my Cayenne could be a mobile trading floor. Then, you need the Google self driving option (probably 2015 model). Wonder if California would let that configuration into the state -- need some guidance here from our legislators.

Not sure why anyone would want a wifi hotspot router option for $1,000 since a spare old iPhone with a SIM card can function as a hotspot device for other users in the car to patch into with their devices. Only advantage of the wifi router from Porsche is using the arial antenna. Maybe I'm missing something.
