No Exclusive Paint on Cayenne?
Hello room....
I'm currently considering ordering a Cayenne Diesel. Also waiting for the new X5 to come out but the Cayenne looks to still be winning the race so far.
In any event, I asked my Sales Advisor about Exclusive paint and he said it was no longer available on the 2013 Cayennes? He mentioned the last Exclusive paint car he ordered was a 2012 and it was simply a matter of checking the box on the order form. When he couldn't find the box to check he made a few calls and found out it's not offered any longer.
Is this true?

FWIW, there's a $5500 paint to sample color option for Carreras, Panameras, and Boxsters in the online configurator, but none for the Cayenne (or Cayman). Since your dealer stands to make extra from PTS, and he has verified the issue, I don't know why he'd steer you wrong. That said, if you were willing to pay enough, I thought almost anything was possible from Porsche.

According to VW, the Touareg and/or Q7 can be ordered in any custom-made color of the customer's choice (See attached web scan). Why should the Cayenne be excluded from this option?

panamera is leipzig but chassis goes to zuffenhausen by train for PTS. $9900
cayenne comes from VW factory initially... different base coat/etc.. no PTS available or ever available regardless of price.
in the past cayenne had the yellow, purple... no longer available.. were not PTS but special colors.. they then had peridot and red, peridot is gone.. only red.
when cayenne first came out, some got special color.. but the dealers were actually painting them!... i for one would love PTS on cayenne.. but i feel the dealer would want like half down no deposit.

Funny. I have thought about the poor color selection for the Cayenne and I think this explanation is as good as any other I have seen or can come up with. They pulled the 957's macadamia brown for the 958s...let's see what colors they offer for the facelift. My money is on dark brown being one of them. Enough with the auburn red already- when i saw the post about "only 20 world wide" i expected it to be about auburn red 958s, not the peridot. Alas they probably have to continue to offer it if they want to run through the supply they ordered 7 years ago...

Tell you what, I'll just wait here until your salesman shows you a PTS Cayenne. That should give me plenty of time to consider my answer ....
If you want a PTS diesel SUV, just buy the VW...it's the same as a Cayenne anyways. Same engine, Trans and unibody.
Funny, seems like only yesterday that Dr. W stated there would never be a diesel Porsche (Cayenne).
