TPMS Intermittent Fault - Help

Hi all
My TPMS has developed an intermittent fault, it suddenly flashes up with the message that the system is no longer operating (yellow text) and i get the error symbol also. The pressures all turn to lines on the display and it appears to be faulty. Sometimes is just starts back up and all is well again and other times it needs the engine to be turned off etc. for it to work again, any ideas?
I had a pressure sensor changed last week by an Indy who thought this was the problem but it hasn't fixed it and they aren't a Porsche specialist so to speak.
Thanks
Carl

What year? TPMS batteries only good for 5-7 years or so, then you need new sensors. Did you change all or only 1?
I noticed on the new Cayenne, when setting the sensors the software seems buggy and it can get into a funny state. Try changing your tire size / type / load setting in the display, let it learn, then change it back to the right settings again. Worked for me when it was in La-La land once, and worked perfectly since.

The batteries could be about done and only 1 was changed under warranty, i have asked the indy to tell me how much life was stated for the others but he said he cant tell, thats not correct is it? I thought it can be read?
Will try what you said, thanks.

If he has the correct equipment, I believe battery life can be read wirelessly.
BTW, if you need new ones and want to be cheap, I got these for my second set of wheels and they work perfectly:

No idea how long the battery will last, but they claim same as OEM. Warning: Made in China instead of Germany.

I can only vouch that they work for a 2013 Cayenne in Canada.
I don't believe they are region specific. Vendor was forthcoming when I called them and double checked compatibility when I ordered (they program them for the specific vehicle before shipping).

I started noticing after my last visit to Porsche service center that my TPMS sensor from the front right wheel is acting strange. It's constantly off by 3psi and and bounce +3, 0, or -3 as I'm driving. It would read 39psi but when I do my own measurment, it's only 36psi. All the other wheels are fine. And I would start to get the Tire Warning message and my PSI is too low on that particular wheel and when doing a manual read for psi, it read 39psi. Is this a sympton of low batter on tpms and would it be cover under CPO. I have an 06 CTTS with CPO good until Sept 2015. Thanks.

My dealership just replaced all 4 of my TPMS sensor and valve stems covered under my CPO warranty. That was a relief to hear that it was covered under CPO because I've read several cases where its a hit or miss.
