It's only a week old with just over 200 miles, but I have questions about its transmission and am wondering if its just normal or not.
The first item is that it seems to like to stay in the 1-1.5k range when it can and the closer to 1k it is there is a droning/vibration that I think is the transmission. It's not a lugging feel. Any one else notice anything like this?
The second issue is that as it down shifts when coming to a stop (auto mode) some of the shifts are rough enough to be noticeable. Most commonly it is the 3->2 shift, but I've felt it for other shifts too. It's not like dropping a clutch without rev matching, but more noticeable than I expect in a 8 speed. Normal?
I have noted a drone as well, but don't think it's the tranny. Sounds more like either an intake or exhaust note. My tranny is excellent, better even than its older brother in my 2011 Touareg. Given the RPMs state, I presume that you don't have Sport mode enabled (?)
hmmm, we had our first long drive in our car today, just clicked over 300kms now, after picking it up on Thursday and noticed a bit off roughnesss when slowing on the return, but i am not sure if its engine or the tyres.
I have fitted 20' rims with GT Radial tyres that are quite chunky!
I see Audi announced that the 2014 Q5 (smaller) will have the same 3.0V6 Diesel as an option, the lighter Q5 should really be a screamer with the bigger motor while still giving excellent MPG.
