I've had my Cayenne for about a month now and twice the PCM won't work. It "appears" to be working (alll screeens are on) but no sound. I've turn it on and off, no luck. Each time,I've turned the key on and off a few time it came back on. Any ideas on what might be the issue? Or just deal with it??

I get that occasionally too. It's infrequent though - only once or twice per year.

Its a common enough problem on 03-05 models even 06 maybe
No easy cheap solution, we just deal with it and know that if you shut her down and leaver her for 5 minutes there's a good chance it will work agan

The amplifier is the cause, based on a random/seldom occurring failure of the micro controller to properly boot load the DSP firmware, resulting in a "no audio output" condition.
Now, the "volume stuck at 11 during an executive test drive" ...

It has been discussed many times on the forum. It has happened to my 2004 only once in the past. Waiting for 5 or so minutes is the easy solution. It's a quirk of the car. ITC has given you the source of the problem. Unless you buy a new amplifier, most just live with this issue. Sorry, there's no easy answer....

Back in the early days, when P!gs were just beginning to roam the Earth, there was a TSB which installed a firrmware update to the amplifier (originally done via CD in the head unit; later done via PIWIS IIRC).
You just had to ask for it by describing the issue to your dealer.
It was not a 100% fix, but did reduce the frequency of the no audio output event.
