Because my dealer tops off my oil just over the lower line, I usually need a quart every 500 miles or so. I think I can get around 1000 miles if I fill it to the top line. Dealer says it's normal, porsche shop near me says it's normal. No leaks under the pig at all either. I wish I only burned a quart every 2k miles.

Anything up to 1 quart per 600 miles is considered normal by Porsche.

This thread reminds me to check my wife's CTT oil.
It consumes about 1qt every 2k, roughly...when she drives it.
The IC pipe has about 0.2qt every oil change.

I change my oil at 7.5k mi. but I've never used more than 1/4 qt. between changes. I always check the level before I change so I know what the consumption is. I too drive, as the Brits would say "making progress".

My 991 used half a quart in the first 2k miles, but I would expect that to decease some now that it's broken in.

My 09 CTTS goes through 1qt every ~3k mi., using Mobil 1 0W-40 exclusively.

Where in the intercooler piping can I check for oil buildup, and how do I access/disassemble it? TIA

2006 C tt S... 47,904 miles and it burns NO oil at all. Nada. Zip.

Check the oil at every fuel up and the level never moves.

I should note that I change the oil and filter and crush washers every 4000 miles now... used to be every 3000 miles.

Never burned a drop. Never yet added oil between oil changes.

Knock on wood.

Oh, and I put the whip to her.

She likes it.

You never know what you're gonna get I guess!

My experience:

06 CTT 1 quart every 500-1000 miles
03 M3 doesn't burn oil
05 A6 3.2 1 quart every 2-3k miles
07 A4 2.0T didn't burn oil
01 CLK55 didn't burn oil

etc. etc.
