Default 2004 "S" Battery

I just purchased a 2004 "S". I noticed it was cranking over slowly the last few days and now it won't start. I have read the battery is around the drivers seat. Where exactly would I find it? Any special tools to remove/replace it?

Also, Is there a good place to find general information on this car? I have the owners manual but does not explain all the stereo functions and other detailed stuff.
Thanks.

You will need a 12 spline 10 mm bit, search the forum and you should find the procedure or it's in the owners manual.

I don't know what your looking for, my owners manual and PCM book have all the info about car operations, try Renntech.org for literature.

Before tipping the seat back to get to the battery - REMOVE the plastic covers on the back of the sliders for the seat. Failure to do so will result in cursing when you break them. Apparently the owners manual doesn't mention this..

Be sure to pay attention to the vent tube when installing the new battery.

Try WalMart, the Everstart Maxx old number was 94R, they changed numbering and I think new one is H7, also H8 might work as well. They have dimensions on their websitehttp://www.walmart.com/search/search...+maxx&ic=16_16

Another question....

I am not sure if my car has the second battery in the cargo area. My rear door is locked and I can't open it until I get the new front battery.

Let's assume I do have the second battery.....Should I replace it too. I am not sure how the charging system works on this car. I know on my Ford truck both have to replaced at the same time or the new one will tax the old one.

Interstate has the battery. As for the second battery in the rear only a small percentage of cars had them but it would be good to check after you get the primary battery replaced.
