Thanks!
Rather dissapointing stuff from Porsche, though.

Hi djadjet,

Welcome to the June build clock club!

I am curious, as to what the "gateway failed" entails. I had gateway errors (unknown to me before the service, except for the clock not working), and they reset it, some settings other than radio/phone reset to default, and all is well. What happened in your case? What does the vehicle do with a dead gateway assuming that is the case? Any critical functions handled by the gateway, or just the informatics?

Gateway fail = car dead

6 week old Cayenne towed on a flatbed to the dealer!
No signs of life but DRL. Later in the day dealer called me to inform that they have managed to start the car but the gateway has failed and totally crashed and unable to reboot.

Fun stuff :-(

OUCH!

Hoping this is a one off, and does not become a rite of passage into the June/13 club!

Does that mean no Cayenne for a while till they get the part in?

BTW, on the clock problem, on "the other forum" a familiar character from this thread reports that PCNA acknowledges the issue, a bulletin will come out this week, and they will change clocks for the Chrono clock with digital time.

Fingers crossed, it's one off.

Yup, no Cayenne for a while and guess no more Porsche for me, back to BMW.

BMW sure do have their share of problems. I had 7 of them so did go through my share of pain, but never had to tow one to the dealer, at least not yet.

I just got the clock on my 2013 Cayenne GTS replaced. It failed after a week. It appears they got a bad batch of these installed on latest shipments of cars. The new clock is different, just like the sport chrono clock in a Panamera.

Update
At dealer today who ordered a new clock. There will be a recall with vin numbers affected. Then all cars in recall get upgrade to chrono clock, so I'll have to wait. You skipped the recall and went to the head of the class

I got the same problem. My Cayenne 2013 was assembled on Aug, 15th.

The dashboard analog clock is stopped at 0 second.

What should I do? Should I visit the dealer shop, and.. what should I say? Just ask them to fix it?

Please give me some help

If you have patience, may as well wait to get the new chrono clock under the reported recall about to unfold.

If you can't stand to see it not working, and don't mind an extra visit, go and ask them to just fix it. Myself and RAKLAW were able to have it resolved by having the wire connected and disconnected in under an hour. In my case they also reset the gateway since they saw an error. Mine works perfectly over a month later, RAKLAW not so lucky. May as well call your dealer and see what they say.

So, are you from the land of Gangnam, or outside?

Just got my car back from the dealer, replaced a bunch of stuff, reprogrammed a bunch of controllers but no clock, still dead.
They have got no instruction from Porsche Canada yet, they will let me know as soon as they do.
Will pay a visit to Porsche Canada in the next day or two and see what they say.

re. dead clock, I have a MY 2013 Cayenne Diesel, July 4 build completion date. The dash analog clock died on the second day. When I took it in a few days later for dealer-installed options (3M rockguard, oil pan heater) they fixed it. I have no idea what they did or what the problem was. It really impressed my friends...I mean, it's a beautiful vehicle, etc. but such a visually obvious and weird glitch (clocks should be simple instruments, last time I checked, pun intended).

Also noticed today it lags a few minutes behind the instrument cluster TFT display time on the multifunction display. They are obviously having communication difficulties, must need counselling or some such thing...
