Default Best way to connect iPhone?

Just picking up a 2004 Turbo Cayenne today and was wondering what I need to do (or buy) in order to hook up my iPhone to the stereo so I can play music?

Thanks!!

So how would I go about installing a Mobridge unit? Are there other options?

There is a Youtube clip on the installation. Search "Mobridge Installation Cayenne" in Youtube and the video is for the iTronic (same product).

Many have done it on this list (including myself). It's "reasonably" straight forward!

Interesting - does not look "too" difficult. However, I'm not too sure where the iPhone would go? In the glove box or centre console?

I put mine in the centre console. It was easy.

Hmmm... I just saw a Dension 500 on sale in craigslist. It is $450 and it has been used for a year. What do you think about that one?

My mobridge has fully integrated bluetooth as well. I can't really comment on the Denison.

I've had the dension for 2 years, no complaints.

I'm starting to find some Full touchscreen / GPS / Radio units for almost the same price as one of these Dension / Mobridge units.

Is there a benefit to keeping the stock Porsche PCM unit? Or perhaps it would make more sense to just buy a new Touchscreen/GPS/NAV (which should include an iPhone hookup). Then I could sell the existing PCM...

thoughts?

Becuuse of the MOST bus if you swap the head unit you will need to replace the amp do some wiring or use an adaptor thats costs over $500.
I cant argue with geting rid of the stock NAV, It's dated and less a less than great performer.

Just remember if you replace your PCM, you may loose the information which displays in your instrument cluster. If that's not an isuue for you, then no problem.

It it's only the GW500 - it won't do the iPhone, you need the GW500 + BTA1500, which some of our on-line vendors (like BumperPlugs) sell for $500 for the whole package.

I have one - love it. Works great, gives me streaming MP3, iPod capabilities, and Bluetooth for the phone (plus streaming music from my Android phone.)

Also, the OP has a 2004, that probably does not have the phone buttons on the PCM (Mine does Not) so the Dension BT would not work for phones, not sure if the Mobdge will.

Man. This is turning out to be more expensive than I originally thought.

Might just spring for a Pioneer head unit. Anyone do the same?
