Injector cleaning? Red Line?

The Porsche dealership here in Dallas has a Red Line injector cleaner I was thinking about using in the Turbo to smooth the initial dip in idle when I start the vehicle. I replaced plugs/ignition coils recently which helped a ton. When I start the Turbo the idle dips and the car shakes for a second or two and then smooths out. At 109,000 mi I assume a bottle of injector cleaner might be useful. My X5 was like a new car after an injector service.
Has anyone used the Red Line stuff?

None of these products are necessary in 2012. Twenty years ago, different story. Since then, the gas co's have added detergent packages. I would not assume a low idle during warm-up is a sign of dirty injectors, would look to different sources.

A close friend of mine who was a senior most tech for Park Place Porsche>Audi>Benz>Bentley and Rolls Royce, before he died, always recommended running an injector cleaner to even out the injector spray nozzle patterns. A wealth of knowledge was lost when he passed.

Porsche does recommend Techron as well as Mercedes but I've heard great things about Redline and use their products. On the other hand, if you stick to one of the top Tier gasolines like Chevron or Shell Premium exclusively you shouldn't need an injector cleaner. The Throttle Body does get dirt from the Crankcase ventilation, and small amounts of oil from the Turbo's. Turbo engines due generate quite a bit of oil in the Air intake system, that is why Porsche recommends the lower Intercooler hoses be pulled and cleaned and the Intercoolers drained of any residual oil as the increase in Crankcase pressure pushes more oil through the PCV system.

To add to that, I believe I read somewhere (can't remember now) that the Costco and other "cheaper" gas have higher alcohol levels than Chevron or Shell, major brands.

Chevron 93 and some 7-11 93 gas. I have those 2 choices in my urban neighborhood. On the highway it's catch as catch can. When I pulled the lower hose on the drivers side, oil just dumped out.... quite a bit. We did not pull the other side.

Techron (the straight stuff...not the less potent fuel system cleaner) is the injector cleaner of choice of many makers. I've used it in all my cars since since the dealer service cleared a rough idle with it years ago in my Audi 2.7T. I'd agree that it's probably not as necessary as it was in past years, so I extended the use interval from 3K to 5K. Be mindful that a bottle in the Cayenne's big gas tank won't reach the suggested concentration if the tank is filled 100%.
