Yes you can. I had some problems with Imation brand CD-Rs but KODAKs worked just fine.

Also you can copy the nav cd and use the backup copy without thinking of damaging it.

cool!
now,
how about MP3's ...
but now, to be specific, do you mean it plays CD-RW discs (most players don't ... something to do with reflectivity and layer depth or coating density or whatever) or do you mean you checked Kodak and Imation CD-Rs ... ?

1. don't think it will play mp3s
2. I checked CD-R not CD-RW
3. Kodak CD-Rs with navigation info works fine
4. Kodak CD-Rs with audio works fine

This is no news for me, many dvd players play SOME cd-r brands and do not play others. And yes, it has to do with layer dept and reflectivity. Since CD-RWs are better in those areas, most DVD players that do not play CD-Rs will play CD-RWs.

That was my concern. I have a spindle of CD-R but was considering buying a spindle of CD-RW so I can change the selections. I will just have to think longer on the titles since the 6 disc changer is not available.

I think I was not clear. CD-RWs will most probably play better than CR-Rs. You will be fine with CD-RWs.

This is the only thread I could find on this topic, and it is very old.

(2004 CTT)

My burned discs work fine in the main head unit, but I'm having trouble getting my 6 Disc Changer to recognize my burned CD's.
I'm using Maxell CD-R.

Is there a list of brands that WORK or DON'T WORK well in the disc changer? I don't want to go buy new discs to not work again.

Thanks!
