A day out with the Cayenne Turbo...
So finally this afternoon the roads were just wet, but around 33F so I still took it easy. I drove up the interstate to NH to a Target to get a couple of things. Sitting in the Cayenne Turbo far away from all the cars in the Target parking lot, looking at the manual (trying to find the place to plug in my cell phone -- FINALLY found it down where the passengers toes would be!! Seriously!).
Anyway, first a guy and his wife/girlfriend, prob late 20s drive up: "What is that? It's BEAUTIFUL!" I tell them. He says "From far away I thought maybe it was the new Lexus but it looked to cool -- then we saw the badge and couldn't believe it!" When I told him about the 450 horses under the hood he just say "Holy $#!t"... they just stared and said how beautiful it was as they drove off.
Few minutes later a big Ford F250 drives by, could tell the guy was looking. He circles around and drives back, opens his window "So, do you ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT?" Of course I do. He was just in awe as he drove off.
On the way out of the parking lot in the rear view mirror I kept seeing people walk out from behind their cars and stare as I drove off.
And of course on the road there were quite a few cars/trucks that would pull up even with me and stare for a bit...
I think (a) the Porsche mystique is alive and well and (b) people don't think this machine is as ugly as the automotive press is trying to portray it.
The "Start Engine" light has gone away and it is running beautifully. Look for a more detailed report next week when I get back to warmer Virginia weather!

I only have the Cayenne S as opposed to your turbo. It is in platinum metalic with 18 inch turbo wheels. Drove it around today and at least 3 cars asked to lower my window and asked who makes it, I said Porsche and they all said beautiful or awesome. Another couple in a Cadillac DTS pulls over and said it looks good. I can't count how many stares with smiles or thumbs up we got. I agree the Porsche mystique is alive an well in the Cayenne. And again I must say I was a nay sayer before I saw it in person and in 24 hours of owning the car I am fully a convert. Happy driving!

Same here. It has been 3 days since I got my C.Turbo and the attention I'm getting from everybody is unbelievable. The interesting thing is that it's coming from all types of people from all ages. Cayenne rules! )

We've had the same experience with ours. Lots of waves, thumbs up and positive comments. At times it's almost embarassing. We pulled into a parking lot the other day to attend a festival and one of the attendants radio'd ahead to the next one telling them that a "really, really, nice car" was headed their way.

Just my .02.....
After seeing the pictures and a couple live (never driven one yet), I've concluded that I like it. I think the C has quite a bit of style. Smooth lines. Nothing gawdy like the Nissan/Infinity. It seems to have it's own identity.

Well after seeing both the S and turbo version at the dealer- looks so much better in person. Man almighty the front end itself looks menacing. Will you try tracking it-I would love to see that monster : ). Regards. Mike

Luke,
I'm in St. Clair Shores. Still getting lots of people admiring the car especially at the pump.
The people in the Cadillac were at least in their early 40's/late 30's if that helps dispell the negative notion when I said a couple in a Cadilac DTS complimented the car.
