Any other porsche could stand on a hill like that. Of course, they'd be sitting on their floor boards

well, anyone that knows anything about 4x4ing knows that that is exactly the wrong thing to see. You want 4 tires on the ground at all times. That photo really proves that the suspension is too tight and has very little travel. That photo shows me that the pepper isnt a real 4x4 like a Range Rover. I wish someone had a RR and did the same thing. You'd see how much more suspension travel the RR has. Guys, that photo somes shows some serious 4x4ing weakness.

Huh? I don't think any 4X4 will have an extra 4 feet (+/-) of suspension travel..... Maybe an H1, but no range-rover will get 4 wheels on the ground in that situation.

I think the real story here is that someone drove a car into an otherwise impossible position. No one would really get themselves where the Porsche is, and for all I know, any other 4x4 would handle this just as well.

Sort of seems like a show shot only....

I saw a VW bug doing just this thing when they planted the right front wheel in a ditch. Hmmmm... isn't the Cayenne a VW???

BTW: I read in a recent Cayenne article the the Tourag will have a full 1" additional ground clearance over the "ing" Cayenne. Superior engineering from Porsche I suppose.

It is amazing to me that it is the same car execpt for the interior, some outside trim, and the engine (same shared Japanese tranny). Imagine a world where there were a bunch of Volvo boxsters out there. Doesn't seem all that exclusive. That is what it will be like for all the Cayenne owners and to add insult to injury.. the Tourag might just be a better off road car.

Actually guys we had a RR in exactly the same predicament a few weeks ago.

In the Moab, and with Camel Trophy drivers too boot! The lady driving the RR just needed to stay a little more to the left and eliminate the sharp right turn, easy to recover from (with Camel Trophy guys).

The RR guys who think it couldn't happen In a RR don't seem to know much about their vehicle's capability or off roading.

Off roading = slow weight transfer
On track = fast weight transfer

See the following:

<a href="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/Trouble?.jpg" target="_blank">http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/Trouble?.jpg</a>

The RR had to be towed, wonder if Porsche has made a tow strap? rest easy the Land Rover one works quite well.

I hope the picture post works! If someone knows how to publish this feel free.

By the way the RR is fantastic and it looks like the Cayenne will be too.

I would try that in my Rangie Colm, but I don't want to scratch it.

Anything can get stuck, I know that my Rover isn't some miracle truck. The only off road vehicle I've seen that can go absolutely anywhere is a rental like the Enterprise or Hertz Taurus.

From personal experience, no words were every more true! Funny stuff.

So, can anyone speculate where the PAG 4.5V8 will turn up next? Sport sedan or wagon?

This is--I think--a point often overlooked by the anti-pepper crowd. You just know that engine is going to be used with other P-Products. Makes one drool/babble/etc.
