Here is how this looks from the interior. Again, this is PhotoSync45 on the front two windows only. This product not only performs exceptionally well, but also has a high clarity adhesive system

The performance difference between PhotoSync45 (45% shade) vs. Porsche Thermal IR Glass in the rear windows (approximately 30% shade) is quite significant. Below is a simplified version of our test results:

At around the 2 minute mark - PhotoSync45 windows show a 2.2 degree improvement
At 2.35 minute marker, the windshield (no film) dash area registers a surface temperature of 101 degrees

The seats after over 18 minutes of exposure shows that PhotoSync45 registers an improvement of 5.1 degrees
The windshield dash at that time shows a surface temperature of 106 degrees.

Result: Although the exterior temperature does not provide a very compelling difference (it was only 72 degrees), there is an apparent variance between Porsche's IR Thermal Glass and PhotoSync45. Keep in mind the Porsche glass is darker, so less light (approximately 15% less) is entering the cabin in the rear, yet PhotoSync still outperforms it.

Not quite as dark as the factory glass shade in the rear, but close

Don't forget. the factory installed option by Porsche - "Thermal IR Glass" for the Panamera and Cayenne's cost $1125 for just the rear windows!

Yet, it does not perform as well as PhotoSync on a relatively cool day at 72 degrees...now imagine if it was hotter. The degree spread would be more significant!

Does the film come in a clear tint too? Not really interested in darkening the windows further but I am interested in keeping out the heat and the UV rays.

Yes, it comes in as light as 75% VLT. The higher the percentage, the lighter it is. OEM glass is typically rated between 85%-88%

As promised, here is a vehicle completed with PhotoSync75. Just to reiterate the technology of this does not use any metals or ceramics to block out heat, which means you will not have any signal interference.

Looks pretty good. How much does it run to install on a 958 Cayenne

And how much is the heat reduction?

PhotoSync does come in the following shades (represented in "VLT" - visible light transmision)

http://www.prestige-films.com/auto_photosync.shtml

75%
65%
45%

***Keep in mind, according to the manufacturer, their "Solar Adaptive Coating" is what's truly unique about this nano tint. The performance of this tint actually improves as it gets hotter. Another effect of their Solar Adaptive Coating is that the film actually darkens when the sun gets more intense....by up to 11%! We had confirmed this effect as well.

We have used the various products on the market before such as dyed, metallic, ceramic, & hybrids and so far, this is one product that is technologically advanced to match the technology of luxury cars today.

With the current heat wave across the country, this would be the perfect addition to any car.

General Specs:

Total Solar Energy Rejection up to 65%
IR (infrared) rejection up to 98.5%
UVA UVB block 99.5%

Manufacturer: PRESTIGE FILM TECHNOLOGIES
Website: www.prestige-films.com

Per some requests, here is another angle shot.

Some have asked us how it compares to Huper and Madico's Ceramic. From our experience and perspective, both of these products will have distortions in the rear glass resulting from heat shrinking. It is absolutely necessary to heat shrink the window film to get it to conform to the curvature of the rear glass and the heat shrinking process distorts the composition of the ceramics. These will actually look like metallic distortions that can be seen in direct sunlight.

On PhotoSync, you will not get any of these issues. From direct experience these ceramic products also can affect keyless entry systems in BMWs and Audis and also affect other wireless transmission signals such as AM / FM, radar, etc.

Another difference is the heat rejection capabilities. The products above, based on our own testing, rejects approximately 80%-85% of IR whereas PhotoSync blocks out up to 98.5% of IR. This is extremely significant for those living in the hotter climates.

For those not in our area, contact the manufacturer directly to see who is in their area - www.prestige-films.com

And for more projects with this film, just Google "Spectra PhotoSync"

We also took a video (on a different car with PhotoSync65) to show how well Prestige Film Technologies PhotoSync works with a BTU meter test when the window is rolled up and down:
