Post Did Hyundai Get There First

Does this bear a strikingly similar appearance to a Cayenne? Try squinting at it.

And if you squint, my Jeep Cherokee looks just like a Boxster. Seriously. If I'm squinting, I sometimes get them confused.

No more than a Toyota Celica to a Ferrari 360 Modena.

I came across two references to the Cayenne looking like the Hyundai in the latest Automobile magazine.

One was in a short article that said it looked like the love child of a 911 and a Hyundai Santa Fe and the other was from a letter to the editor wanting to see more information on the Porsche’s expensive Hyundai knock-off.

Actully, from my understanding, didn't Porsche design the Tiptronic tranny in the new Tiburon? That would give reason to believe that Porsche "Barrowed" the body design of the Cayenne from Hyundai's Santa Fe.
BTW, this was the EXACT same thing I was thinking the first time I saw the Cayenne.

Same here, I actually had to drive one today and I was kinda depressed because I knew how similar they look. And how much the price difference will be, but then I thought, its still a Hyundai.

Dear 944S2Nut,
You are quite correct. Transmissions are
purchased complete from the vendors. Porsche just bolt them in. Classic outsourcing.
Ciao,
