My first new car - what a great way to get indoctrinated into the German way, or at least the VAG way...

One of my favorite (but not at the time) stories is coming screaming into a rotary (traffic circle) in NJ, see a trooper out of the corner of my eye. Yep, lights on, pulled over instantly...

Trooper - "You were on three wheels going through that circle! What do you have to say?"

Me - "...'er, 'um, it's supposed to do that...."

I also learned to drive in a 1975 55Hp Civic. Can still remember the faces of those big cars drivers when I used to pass them on the highways ramps. I still love to drive fast just for the fun of it, either on the track or on a small road. But I suspect most peoples driving a SUV or Pickup at 160 on the highways dont do it for fun, they are just late or very busy.

Maybe I didn't say it right, English is not my primary language, my neighbour had a Pit Bull and my kids used to play with it all the time. This is why I said it always depend on the owner. I dont care when I get tailgated by a Honda but if it is a Yukon I always wonder if he will be able to stop for that traffic jam ahead.

Happy driving.

Just kidding Serge, you're right, pits if trained to be can be lethal. I'm use to this look from people when they see the mutts coming toward them.

Your comment about SUVs and truck is also valid IMHO and a big part of the tread started by 993RS. Of course there are great drivers that can drive anything, but there are more drivers in the US that drive their very heavy, and very slow to stop SUVs with a cell phone plugged in their ear and doing that center lean (you know the one's "hey look at me, look'n at me, while I'm driv'n" ).

One good thing about SUVs (and winter) it's been great for my brothers business - he owns a body shop
