If you are talking about the red in the wheels, that is the caliper colour red reflecting off the wheel spokes not the brakes getting hot. Hot brakes glow is more orange and will be around the whole wheel not just part. The Cayenne is fitted with red caliper or Turbo brakes. You can actually see the metal colour of the disks in this photo. As for stopping power I am going to be very interested to see the braking distance of the Cayenne as compared to other vehicles. Remembering that it is not how fast you stop but how fast the guy behind you stops,

Adrian,

I thought the calibers are in 'front' of the wheel, right where the grey part is?

Dear FF,
I forgot something in my post which I have added. It has been one of those days. Mind you I do not believe that this is hot brakes.

Adrian,

I do not believe those are hot brakes either, but I think that photo is done with 'photoshopping'.

But calipers are those silver ones (in photo) & I guess they wanted (again) us to think there's something 'cool' (well, hot in this case) in Cayenne...

I saw the Cayenne at the Paris Auto Show and the front brakes are the biggest I have seen anywhere on a regular production vehicle. The front calipers are huge 6 piston units.
