Off Road Tires

Burning Brakes
i have had hankook ATM's 245/65/17 for about 3 years after a poor experience on 22 tech art reps...It's time to replace soon and I am looking at the same size in a more aggressive light mud/at tire from Hercules tire, same hardness.
I have been trying out a FJ cruiser for my daily commuter and it's an old bump around rig but the Cayenne stability and handling after 10 years of ownership makes me miss the ease of use even in rugged tires.

Tire size limit?
Has anyone run 275/50-20's on their Cayenne? Diameter is +/-30.8. Based upon the posts I've read, it seems like they would fit diameter wise, but with this width wondering if they would rub on tight turns. Thoughts/experience? Thanks, Doug
Update - I test installed this size tire today - it does not rub at normal ride height; it does rub slightly at lower ride height setting. I chose not to purchase the tires in this size and to go one size smaller - 275/45-20.

just to be safe, you did check to make sure the wheels can support the Cayenne load....

I want to lift my Cayenne 1 inch and i think this product is a quick solution without changing all the suspension or the springs...

Hello everyone! This will be my first post (well second now) to the forum. My wife and I just bought our first Porsche, a 2005 Cayenne Turbo, about a month ago. After perusing the various forms I took the leap and bought a full set of 18 inch stock wheels and installed 265/65R18 Kumho Road Venture AT51 all terrains. After one challenging but damage free excursion up a little used, overgrown, rocky forest road here in the western Cascades and a few street miles I can report no rubbing/clearance with the tires.
On a side note, this trip confirmed my long-held desire to get a Cayenne. It's a thrill to drive on the pavement and a very competent off-road vehicle as well.
What is it about humans in the forest? Saw this at the very top of a difficult
and rocky climb up a seldom used and overgrown Forest Service Rd.

I am running 255/60-19s which are about 31x10.5". There is not a lot of clearance but I have yet to hear or see them rub. They work great on our SW CO jeep roads, haven't even felt the need to air down yet either.

That makes total sense. The 265/65R18 are about 31.5" and 10.7".

Mine are very close to the upper suspension bolt and maybe 1/2" off the fender liner when turned in, suspension in "normal".
I wasn't sure if the Cayenne was worthy of a set of KO2's, and the wheels I would have to buy as well but, that may be the next tire change. I am very happy with the GoodYears right now. Hopefully they work in the snow too.
