RESP as much as i'd love to do the offroad i would feel strange to unnecessarily punish my cars even though i'm sure it will be able to take it. i'd be scared to screw something up and get stuck with a brand new car that needs to be fixed.
For European Delivery on both the track and off road, you will drive a factory car. On the track they make sure you get a car that is equipped similar to the one you are buying. On the off road track, they will provide a car but with 18" wheels so it can take the rocks, etc. You will not need to worry about your own car. The kids would love both tracks!

One or maybe more of the factory cars has a camera mounted both forward and back at the passenger. I was able to get a video which I posted when the Porsche driver took me on a couple "hot tracks". They can put it on a USB stick for you. I also brought my own GoPro and mounted it on the windshield of both the on track car and then on the car off track and then used it on my trip.

i went to my local dealership and managed to negotiate a 4% discount (is this good???) however after the negotiating i mentionned that i wanted to do the ED and the salesman asked me to chose between the ED and the discount cause he couldn't do both!

My 4% represents 2,869$...what should i do? go to another dealer? is this fair?

also i noticed that he included a charge of 1115$ destination charge (i understand this) however he also included a 950$ prep charge, is this standard?
The ED is a "$0" cost option. It does cost the dealer about $3K BUT they get an extra allocation of a car which they will make more than that. I'd put the pressure on the dealer. the ED used to cost 3% but that changed just under a year ago so maybe your dealer is not aware of the no cost option now.

Regarding the 4%. I worked very hard and got 5% including $0 ED. Regarding the destination/prep, there is a destination but prep, no. It's prepped in Germany free and when it comes back, they should clean it for you but it shouldn't need anything else.

Nhirsch, i went to 2 dealers, one gave me 0% discount if i took the ED and the other gave me 1.5% discount with ED and promised me he would make it up to me with some tune ups on the house...and that's after 2 months of haggling.
they are really not desperate for your business here! In any case it's now a done deal and i've booked my flights to Leipzig.

i had assumed that it would be my own car but now that i know that it's a factory car i will definitely do the on and off road track, i'm soooo excited, since i was a kid it was always my dream to own a porsche and although the Cayenne wasn't exactly what i had in mind (kids tend to change your vision) picking it up at the factory will be a very special day for me.

I just looked thru your Blog and it looks like you had a great time...although i must say i think my wife will probably end up going thru the race track at a faster pace than me lol!
thanks for sharing your trip with us, after viewing it, i am now 100% confident that i made the right choice choosing the ED, i just hope that i can document it as well as you.

Congratulations micha !!

I am sure you will get lots of advice when the time to go approaches.
