Phil,

When I left Suncoast last week they were sold out for at least 4 to 6 months, if every person orders the vehicle. I would say it will sell well and get into the ML and BMW market.

"If every person orders the vehicle" ????

You mean to say that all those Cayenne orders placed for the entire first year's production can simply evaporate into thin air on the whim of the buyers?

"ML and BMW market" The major share of their market is in the range of ML320's and X5 3.0, Cayenne can have the rest and good ridance.

But I'd be willing to bet they won't even see 20% of the "rest".

After the first five or ten Cayenne turboes are sold who will be left to be interested?

Put a V6 of about 250HP in the Cayenne and at about $45,000 I'd be the first in line for European PU next spring.

Keep in mind..

BMW sold 84,000 X5's last year to the American market alone.
Porsche is predicting on only building 19,000 Cayennes for '03. (USA and Canada combined)

They will sell everyone they make, and then some.

6 cylinder? ~250HP? For REAL?

Where do I send the check?

Of those 84000 X5's how many weren't 3.0's

The RX300 and the Toyota HL define this market segment quite well, even though they're only FWD.

Oh, until that 250HP Cayenne arrives the BMW X5 3.0 will remain the best of the BEST in its market segment.
