'06 Cayenne Turbo S Brakes.... Wow
Just quoted $4500 for brakes and rotors from a Chicago dealership... Fair? Seemed a little steep...
The workshop also gave me a hard time for the Conti DWS tires on the car that are not "N" rated -- but that same dealership originally put these exact tires on the car to bring it up to certification before selling to me!! This caused me to call all of their advice/quotes into question...
Appreciate any insight... Feel like they may be taking me behind the woodshed...

Dealer prices around $1500 for front rotors, $500 for the rear (Pair), and around $400 for pads all around, and another $225 for all 4 brake pad sensors. These are the retail prices, most can be had for significant discount through the internet and you can save a lot of labor if you can do the work yourself. I am a fan of EBC Yellow pads at just a little over 1/2 the price of OEM and slightly less dust and better stopping. Many have had good luck with Hawk pads so maybe someone will chime in with which Hawk pad they use.

That's too high for brakes. I'd find a good indy as suggested.
I like N-spec tires on my 911. I believe it makes a difference. On the Cayenne, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I actually run the Continental ExtremeContact DWS as my summer tire, and they are awesome. I like them much better than the N-spec Continental SportContact 4x4 that I had before.

For the Turbo S you can get aftermarket Pads & Rear Rotors but the fronts are only available from Porsche as they are a 2pc (aluminum hat, cast iron rotor) 380mm rotor. I went with EBC Yellows all the way around (2nd set) and EBC Ultimax rear rotors with OEM front Rotors.

Pelican parts sells the whole Turbo S brake kit for $2451 which is better than the dealer cost but still can be had for less. I was very careful removing my brake pad sensors and was able to reuse them saving that cost but they are very prone to cracking when removed. Porsche has used the same poor low brake pad warning design for over 20 years.

Over here in the States they retail for a little more than $50 from Porsche but you can get them over the internet for closer to your $25, I was just posting dealer prices for a comparison to his quote but I never pay the dealer price myself.

I know that all miles are not the same, highway vs. city stop and go for example, but as I'm driving a glorious '06 tts with approx. 46,000 highway miles on it I am wondering at what approx. mile you guys are seeing your rotors go below the 37.6mm "re-padding" spec?
I THINK that is the minimum re-padding spec, anyway.
TIA
