'12 Cayenne won't start
Well, my honeymoon with my 2012 Cayenne is officially over. Drove my V6 with 5400 miles on it to the store and when I came out it wouldn't start. Dash lights and PCM came on but could get nothing from the engine at all. Tried everything from disconnecting battery to just leaving it alone and restarting to a jump. Eventually had to be towed. Fortunately, Sonnen put me in a new Panamera but they have no idea what happened. Will let you know what they find.

Just picked up my Cayenne. Working perfectly now with a new starter. Also fixed the headlight recall issue and a few other service items.
While they were at it they installed the trailer hitch so it's nice to have that gap filled.

Panamera was very nice. I had the V6 and was able to compare it to my V6. The 3.6L V6 in the Panamera is very responsive and powerful. I've always been happy with the VW V6 in my Cayenne but can clearly see the benefits of the Porsche built engine. It was definitely faster and more responsive through all of the gears. I suppose some of that is due to the lighter weight of the Panamera but it would be nice to see a Cayenne with that engine and the PDK to be sure. Handling was outstanding...forgot what it was like to be so low to the ground but makes a big difference. I don't have PDCC and PTV but if they make the Cayenne drive like that they would be worth every penny.
Other than the engine, I tended to like the Cayenne more. More interior room, more things you can do with the Cayenne, better equipped. And much, much less expensive. It's at least a $17-20k premium to get a Panamera similarly equipped to any Cayenne.
Bottom line is they are both outstanding. If you want a sports sedan Panamera is fantastic. If you want an SUV to haul stuff around, Cayenne is great.

I had one for a loner for a couple of days, engine much more responsive and quicker but that is to be expected with the size difference. It was very nice, but I was really happy to get the Cayenne back. The comfort level was not even close.
