Installed LED DRL

I tried wiring my lights into the fuse box in the engine bay. This worked, but I later found that after my car was running, and I shut it down, there would be small fluctuating voltages to that box, which would cause my lights to turn on and off, for like 20 minutes after I turned off the car. This may be an issue specific to the Philips lights, though. I really don't know.
My solution was to hook the wire into a empty, switched slot in the drivers side fuse box in the front dash. When the power is, there is no power going to that fuse, and it cured my issue. It brings up another issue - running a wire through the firewall. After trying several ways, I found an easy way to do it. Remove the access panel under the steering wheel. If you look above your accelerator (on my car anyway) there is a bundle of wires that goes into the firewall, surrounded by a rubber flange. I straightened out and sharpened the tip of a wire coat hanger, taped my wire to the other end of that. I shoved the coat hanger into the outer edge of the rubber flange - pointing it upwards and away from the wire bundle, and pushed it through the flange. It came out in the upper, center of the engine bay. I pulled it, and the wire into the engine bay and hooked it into my other wire that ended in the engine bays fuse box and all is well. I also put a dollop of marine grade silicone on the wire where it came into the engine bay to keep moisture from entering my new hole.
I hope this helps.

Forge... I think the idea behind the Philips kit as that you can put it in any 12V system.. you just have to locate a good spot on your car that you like and adheres to the legal requirements of your area - like not too close to a blinker so it doesn't wash out the blinker. As for sizing... for my car the one 8 led unit looked too small for me, so I molded 2 together. You will have to see where you want to put it and decide if you can get away with one, or will need 2.

I purchased mine on amazon. I tried making a hotlink for you, but it didn't work. Search on: Philips 12824WLEDX1 DayLight 8 High Powered Luxeon LED Daytime Running Light

To your earlier point, the place I would like to do it, underneath the headlight in one of those slots seems like it may be to close to the turn signal.
Where and how did you do the install?

The pics of my install are in this thread...page 2. The post was on 8/25/12, in case your 'threads per page' setting is different than mine. You should be able to tell from the pics where I installed mine, and there is a write-up on how I did it there too. But I basically used 2 sets of the DRL8's, ground the inside ends down (the ones that would be touching if you placed them side by side), and fused them together with JB Weld. Again, my write up on 8/25 is more detailed. Read through it, and if you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
