Default Deposit placed on first Diesel Pepper. How should spec this thing?

Yip I'm No. 1 on the list for a Diesel Cayenne.
Comes with the 8 speed auto and is priced at $55k

I have decided I want the full natural leather interior in Espresso.
Other must haves include nav, heated & vented seats, tow package, Lane Change Assist, Sport Design steering wheel and larger wheels (but how big?).

I am considering the back-up camera, pano roof, xenon's and the high gloss black exterior package.
From the Exclusive options I may select grab handles in wood.

I want to take Euro Delivery in the Fall.

Thoughts?

I love my Touareg TDI but the VW dealer service departments here in Orlando are staffed with losers. I may trade in for a Cayenne diesel just for that reason.

I have thought a bit about this, and spec'd a car out at around $74k. Personally I like the 20" RS wheels. Pano roof is a definite, and don't forget the trailer hitch receiver. HD radio receiver is now an option too, and probably worth including. As far as high gloss exterior package, IMO pass.

just cruising around the Cayenne diesel page on Porsche's website and noticed this interesting pic of the trailer hitch....anyone know the capacity on something like this?

I'm assuming to tow a race trailer you'd need a proper trailer receiver?

I was hoping that the Porsche Cayenne diesel would recieve more of a bump in power over the VW Touareg TDI. Looks like only a 15 hp bump with torque being the same at 406 lb/ft.

turbo diesels love chip tuning.... but yeah some additional hardware mods from porsche would have been a nice differentiator.

Lane change assist? No.

Xenon? Yes, if you plan on driving at night.

But that's just me.

The Toureg is however loaded @$57k, probably a better value even with losers in the shop.

I too like the RS wheels but a bitch to clean, it would bother me knowing that they are dirty inside, I'm leaning toward the 19" Turbo wheel. Sure, I think the pano roof would highlight the Espresso leather. Yes to no roof rails, I want a sleeker look, so I'll want the hitch. High gloss exterior package is less than $200 and I've found that the silver window trim on my wagon has tarnished badly - I'll give this a whirl.

Not available in the US. Just get the regular one for $600. I paid $2k to have mine retrofitted.

LCA - this is a nice feature and would get it again. Not strictly necessary but relatively cheap.

Personally I'd opt for PDCC as one of my "must have" options. It's expensive but I just love a car (especially an SUV) that doesn't lean going around corners...

And this where it gets ridiculous - if you add PDCC (not sure it's available on the diesel anyway) you have to add air suspension. Together they cost $8k!
