Default Cayenne S, engine dies after coil change

Hello Community,

maybe somebody here who can help me.*

i am Thomas from Germany. My wifes Cayenne is going to drive me crazy.

Car was running perfect. just in case and cause i didnt know when spark plugs were changed last time i did this work last weekend.

changed all plugs and same time replaced all coils. easy DIY work.

No any further work i did.

i made a test drive. car was running perfect but engine control light came up.

i left car on the street and did not drive again because i was affraid. did some research what it could be and found out possible to continue to drive if engine doesnt sound strange.

wanted to drive the car to garage and........... started but strange behaviour, stottering and dead. started again and same behaviour.

i left it there.

next day i checked my work, take out all plags again and replaced.

testdrive arround the corner. no problem engine running like new but engine control light still on.

stopped on gas station to take fuel. again the same problem.

engine starts, runnig for some seconds and ........ dead.

any idea what it can be.

could i did something wrong with the spark plug or coil work?

any anyswer will be a great pleasure.

thank you, thomas

your description of the issue is textbook coils. If not , cables, fuses

The car will run if driven lightly but as soon as you put you foot down the electrical breakdown occurs

If you've replaced all 8 coils with new ones, installed the correct plugs, and verified the connectors on the coils are connected properly, I would begin to wonder if a fuel pump hasn't gone out.

Your Cayenne has two fuel pumps. If just the primary pump has gone out, the secondary can't keep up with the fuel demand. Do you have a Durametric to pull the check engine code?

i dont want to waste your time.

thank you for comments.
i was just wondering if i could do something wrong during changing the parts because engine failure accoured direct after changing plugs and coils. before never had a similar problem.

thank you

Sounds like a bad plug/coil. I assume you checked the plug gap when you pulled and re-installed the plugs? I just did the plugs and all 8 coils a couple of weeks ago and didn't have a problem.

I didnt check the gap but car wouldnt drive 25 minutes without problems if gap is wrong. I have to tow away the truck. No other solution. Thank you guys
