Fault: Differential Lock

Fault: Differential Lock
2012 CTT - 3K miles
Driving to work this morning I see a message Fault: Differential Lock. I am on the freeway so 20 miles later I reach the office garage, take out the manual, look up the Fault message and it says to take it to the dealer.
Took it to the dealer at lunch, the service tech (pretty experienced guy) says he has never heard of the message. 4 hours later Service manager calls and says that they are overnighting new differential from wherever CTT differentials come from. He was pretty light on the failure mode but did mention that the technician said it would take a lot of work to replace the part.
I will find out more tomorrow and will post what I find. Does anyone here have any ideas what this could be?

I have about 10k miles and got the same Fault Differential Lock message. Turned it off and back on again and it was gone. Did you get this fixed?
